Where are we located? Pick up is at the HogsBack Lock #12 and is accessible from Hwy. 16. (Prince of Wales Drive). I will meet you personally at the locks to introduce myself and  load the boat with your personal belongings if necessary.

How do I pay? Payment can be through via email transfer. Please note that the full payment is required at the time of booking.

How many people can I take?  This is a small boat and has a capacity of 4 persons. The captain and Finn my golden-doodle is always also on board.

Is the boat pet-friendly? My dog is always on board so ultimately yes, but unfortunately we cannot take other pets.

Is it safe? Passenger safety is paramount to the Brass Toucan, we are fully insured, have the necessary requirements outlined by transport Canada including, commercial license and pleasure craft operator card, safety lines and lifejackets. The boat has been given a clear check from a marine surveyor. That said, life, weather, other vessels actions and water can be unpredictable and no adventure is clear of risk.  In light of that, all passengers are required to complete the Waiver of liability agreement prior to boarding the vessel.

Can I drink alcohol? Sadly this is a small vessel without washroom and we do not have a liquor license. Please note that drunken and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated for the safety of the other passengers and the captain reserves the right to discontinue the tour should there be an issue with safety.

What should I bring/wear? Light comfortable clothing is best,  please do not wear white, you may get wet depending on the weather or large waves from bigger boats.

Can I buy a tour as a gift? Absolutely!! Gift Certificates are available anytime by pick-up or mail. We are happy to help you in any way we can.

Is the boat wheel-chair accessible? Sadly we are not, but please call us if you have any questions, there may be a way we can accommodate you.

Do you offer bilingual service? The captain will try her best, but she is not fluent, Finn only speaks dog.

What do I do? What do you want to do? There are many options and we wish to make this an amazing shared adventure for you and your guests should you wish to charter a half or full day. Camping at the locks, catering, BBQ orswimming in the lakes? You choose..

What if I have to go to the bathroom? This is not a yacht, its a very unique almost gondola like cruiser. We would suggest attending your needs before going onboard. There will be drop offs at Lock Stations that have washroom facilities.

Can I get a receipt? Of course.

What happens if the weather is bad? In case of un-safe weather conditions, high winds or storm, we reserve the right to cancel the tour. Notice will be amply given up to 6-12 hours ahead of time. All deposits will be either reimbursed or can be reclaimed at a later date. We apologize if this happens, but our passenger safety is paramount! We are fully insured and up to transport Canada's safety codes.

Can I cancel? Life happens and of course you can cancel or reschedule. Please note that cancellations must be given 24 hours notice in advance or you will be charged the full amount.
